Wrapping Up HackenProof Summer Event: Key Takeaways

A Month to Remember

The Summer Security: Last Catch Event ran from August 25th to September 25th, bringing together 1,225 registered participants. Over the course of the month, researchers explored the security of seven programs across the Web3 and crypto ecosystem, submitting a total of 166 reports. The event offered a unique opportunity for hackers to test real-world platforms and challenge their skills in a meaningful, impactful way.

Bug Bounty Programs Powering the Event

This campaign gathered seven leading programs, each providing a distinct space for security research:

• Flipster Web & Mobile – a fast-growing crypto derivatives trading platform with over 1M users and $20B in monthly trading volume.
• Chainstack – a Web3 infrastructure provider powering decentralized applications across DeFi, NFTs, gaming, analytics, and more.
• Tickets Travel Network / Updated UI – a dynamic travel distribution company in the EMEA region, offering millions of users flights, trains, and bus bookings.
• Tickets Travel Network / Mobile – the mobile version of the platform, enabling travelers to book on the go.
• CoinGecko – a trusted crypto data aggregator tracking prices, volume, market cap, on-chain metrics, and developer activity.
• Ethereum Foundation (Account Abstraction Bugs) – driving innovations in smart wallet technology.
• MetaMask Validator Staking Smart Contracts – enabling millions of users to interact with decentralized apps safely.

Each program gave participants the chance to uncover vulnerabilities, submit reports, and learn from real-world security challenges.

Highlights & Rewards

Hackers received payouts according to the severity rewards defined by each program. On top of that, HackenProof prepared special merch boxes for top performers. Depending on their ranking, hackers will receive a selection of gifts, including branded T-shirts, caps, stress relievers, LEGO sets, and more.

Additionally, our partner Chainstack supported the community by offering 50 promo coupons for their Growth Plan, giving full access to advanced platform features for a month.
