The Exchange Behind 35M+ Users

WhiteBIT is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Europe by traffic, serving over 35 million users worldwide. With $2.5B+ in daily trading volume and 270+ listed assets, the platform is a major force in driving blockchain adoption.

From day one, WhiteBIT has prioritized security, usability, and performance at scale, treating user protection as a continuous mission — not a one-off task.

Why Bug Bounty Became Essential

As WhiteBIT’s infrastructure and user base expanded, cryptocurrency exchange security requirements grew more complex. While traditional audits provided value, they couldn’t deliver the ongoing, real-world testing essential for such a high-volume platform.

To close this gap, WhiteBIT partnered with HackenProof to launch a bug bounty program — engaging independent security researchers to uncover vulnerabilities before attackers do. This marked a shift from static checks to an adaptive, crowd-powered defense.

Three Programs, One Goal: Layered Protection

Since 2020, WhiteBIT has launched and maintained three active bug bounty programs on HackenProof — each focused on a different attack surface:

  • WhiteBIT Platform — targets core functionality that may impact user funds, personal data, or platform stability.
  • WhiteBIT Protocol — focuses on token logic, transaction processing, and privacy-related vulnerabilities.
  • WhiteBIT Blog — ensures security of supporting infrastructure, including access controls and databases.

This multi-layered structure reflects the company’s strategic approach: every component, from backend logic to user-facing interfaces, is continuously tested by a global community of ethical hackers. To date, the programs have resulted in 181 discovered vulnerabilities, including 20 critical and 35 high-severity issues — all resolved before they could be exploited.

Security as a Continuous Commitment

For WhiteBIT, bug bounty is not a one-time initiative — it’s a long-term security layer that evolves with the platform. By engaging independent researchers through HackenProof, the company ensures ongoing testing across all components of its ecosystem. This approach reflects a mature security culture: transparent, proactive, and ready to meet the demands of a rapidly growing user base.
